Good Omens

Okay, it's been a week - let's talk about the Good Omens series.

I'll start. I loved the relationship between Crowley and Aziraphale. I mean, I liked them in the book but their series relationship was so gloriously shippy, full of pining, angst, and falling in love at different speeds. Just...AH!

Anyway, when they were on the screen, either together or separately, the story sparkled. When they weren't, everything got less interesting. I liked The Them and the Four Horsemen, Anathema and the witch hunters were fine, and I think Madame Tracy (Miranda Richardson) did a fantastic job. But still, everything associated with the angel and devil, including the denizens of Heaven and Hell, outshone everything else. Ligur, Hastur, Beelzebub, and Gabriel were also standouts.

it really was SO shippy. even shippier than i expected. and i read the book! i fully remember the line about aziraphale presenting as gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide! their dynamic was gayer than THAT. and i could not be more grateful for it.

You know, I never shipped them in the book (which isn't unusual, things have to be stated pretty clearly for me to read them as a romantic relationship). But this? EVEN I got this and it was a delight. It was one of the most romantic, slow-burn things I've ever seen on TV. Their relationship was so vivid and so rich that all the other supposed romances seem incredibly shallow. Although honestly, Anathema/Pulsiver and Shadwell/Madame Tracy never made sense to me in the book and still don't...and I don't think that's just my typical relationship blindness.
