Chugging Away

Today's tea was Bossa Nova, which is typically what I drink on weekends. It's very light and smooth, which means I drink it pretty quickly and avoid the whole getting distracted by multiple things and letting your tea go cold problem.
I started working on "Hill House 8" again today, focusing this time on the opening. Turns out it's really hard to write the "Doctor and companions arrive and discover a mystery" bit without turning it into an exposition fest. What I've got now is overly wordy and a bit dull, but I'll try editing it into something more interesting later. I also realized I have two Livs in the story: Olivia "Liv" Crain, the wife and architect from "The Haunting of Hill House," and the Doctor's MedTech friend, Liv Chenka. I suppose I could switch out the companion set to avoid confusion, but I really like Helen and Liv so I'll make it work somehow.
I know these aren't really scintillating updates, but if I have to tell you about my progress maybe I'll actually make some. I've got nearly 2,000 words so far, but nothing nearly approximating a story.
